Market Watch

First of all a thought to you all after our shocks on the 23rd December. Just when we were, getting some confidence back that the worst was over and while knew there were going to be aftershocks, my thoughts were bring them on as those little low level shakes were the tailing off of the brutal ones and although would last for years were not really going to cause any major damage.
How wrong I was and so frustrated and angry not because of nervousness but because it just effects everyons confidence in decision making until things settle down as they kind of have!
I personally was not effected too badly, a few breakages, however really feel for all of you in the Green TC3 Blue zone areas (when you should be Red) who had massive liquefaction and/or water through your properties again. I have an Orange zone property in Oxford Tce along the River (once a glorious spot) - there was liquefaction there again, so waiting on that decision with bated breath.
As has been said by so many previously this is the new norm - if you stay in Christchurch you can look back as what we had is gone and at some stage there will be lots of new.
Anyway to Real Estate. The year ended very well for sales with the number of sales in August, September & November more than in the equivalent months of 2008 and certainly higher than 2010. December figures have not been released as yet however the month was very strong with inquiry. I personally put 10 properties under offer.
The holiday period was quieter as is always traditionally, although it was thought with the December market so strong and the positive vibes out there it would carry through. The earthquake probably did have an effect as each one has for a few weeks and perhaps a blessing re timing with so many businesses/industry closed for the holidays. However sales did take place and the inquiry is building once again for the well presented correctly priced new listings, many going into multi offers.
From now through the autumn the market is always strong and those red zoners who havent yet made a decision on their options will do so and be in the market for their new property. Insurance is still transferable from property to property.
If you are looking for real estate advice or information please don't hesitate to call.

$200 million in Sales

At the latest Harcourt's Award I was thrilled to receive the Gold Pin for $200 million in sales. Very few real estate salespeople ever get close to this figure so I am really proud to have achieved it. However it could never have happened without YOU having entrusted me in the selling and/or buying process of your property, so again a huge thank you.

Dylan

Now 20.5 months and real little outside boy, seen here helping dad mow the lawn. Much more fun than being stuck inside. His little brother should be here at the end of this month. No 3 for me!

Ella

Quickly growing up at 14 months and walking flat tack everywhere. Loves following her cousin around, much easier than crawling after him! Seen here learning to take steps by pushing her blocks up and down the drive.
